Noa Arbel, New York, NY
Noa Arbel was born in Tel Aviv, Israel and raised in Jerusalem. She attended Kalisher Art School in Tel Aviv and later moved to New York City, where she studied at the School of Visual arts and at the New School. Noa has been studying with Richard Pionk at The Arts Students League of New York and at the Salmagundi Club. She has participated in exhibitions at the Arts Students League and exhibits her paintings at restaurants in the East Village of NYC and in Easton, Maryland. Her paintings are included in various private collections in her native Israel as well as in the United States. Noa currently resides in NYC and Hillsboro, MD.
Robert Barber, State College, PA
Robert Barber was born near Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in California. He earned a bachelor's degree in studio art from the University of California at Santa Barbara and completed a bachelor's degree of fine arts at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Robert is a member of Oil Painters of America and the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. He has exhibited in the OPA national show, as well as the Arts for the Parks Top 100 and Mini 100 national exhibitions. Robert freelanced as an illustrator for twenty years, and several of his paintings are on display in Natural History Museums. Currently residing in Beltsville, MD, Robert is dedicated to exhibiting his landscape, seascape, and figurative works.
Walter Bartman, Jefferson, MD
Walter Bartman graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in art education. He later received a Fulbright grant to study art in Belgium and the Netherland and was conferred a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Art History from the American University in Washington, DC. Bartman has taught at many well-known art schools including Carnegie Mellon University, Montgomery College, and the Corcoran School of Art and is listed in the Art and Artist Files in the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden Library Collections. With work in prominent public and private collections,he continues to receive national recognition for his artwork and teaching. Residing in Jefferson, MD, Bartman has been teaching at Glen Echo Park, MD, for nearly 20 years.
Donna Eleinne Basa, Jackson, NJ
Donna Eleinne Basa credits much of her knowledge to the classical training she received while growing up in Manila where she was enrolled at the Children's Museum and Library Inc.. After moving to NJ., Eleinne became involved in the local art community. She won a Grumbacher Gold Medallion at the Hudson Artists of N.J. regional exhibit and has participated in several other juried shows. Currently residing in Jackson, N.J., Eleinne is a member of several organizations such as the Oil Painters of America and the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast.
Tim Bell, Edgewater, MD
Tim Bell is a painter in the American Impressionist tradition. A graduate of Frostburg State University with a degree in Fine Arts, Tim conducted his post-Graduate studies at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis, Maryland and the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, Massachusettes. He studied with the Impressionist painter George T. Thurmond in Mississippi. Tim has studied with Cedric and Joanette Egeli, renowned portrait artists since 1994. A native Marylander, Tim draws inspiration from the areas beaches, waterways and hillsides. His paintings recreate a variety of light effects and weather conditions, and it is these elements that make his paintings so dynamic and original. Tim uses a combination of palette knives and brushes on canvas to create his paintings, which are a tribute to the rich artistic heritage of American Impressionism.
Lee A. Boynton, Annapolis, MD
Lee Boynton studied with Cedric Egeli in Annapolis, MD and Impressionist master Henry Hensche at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, MA. Lee co-authored "Painting the Impressionist Watercolor" with Linda Gottleib, one of his long-standing students. He first gained recognition in the Chesapeake Bay area for his paintings of watermen working the Bay, a passing way of life. The city of Annapolis commissioned Lee to paint three oil murals of landmark events in the city's history to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Annapolis as the state capital. These murals are currently hanging in the city counsel chambers at City Hall. Residing in Annapolis, MD, Lee teaches classes at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.
Gavin Brooks, Towson, MD
Kelly "Gavin" Brooks is a Signature Member of the National Academy of Professional Plein Air Painters and a Signature Member of the Loudoun Society. She is also a member of Oil Painters of America with whom she has exhibited nationally, the Laguna Plein Air Painters and is a member candidate with PAP-SE and the Salmagundi Club. Gavin was educated at the Schuler School of Fine Art and studied with contemporary master Scott Christensen. She has exhibited in national shows, juried competitions, museums and has had several solo shows on both coasts. She was recently listed in Who's Who In American Art and was the subject of a feature in Fine Art Connoisseur. Gavin resides in Towson, MD.

Roger Dale Brown resides in Nashville, TN. He has studied with accomplished artists Dawn Whitelaw, Scott Christensen, George Strickland and Everett Raymond Kintsler, as well as through the writings and works of Edgar Payne, John F. Carlson, and Andrew Wyeth. Currently Roger participates with professional art organizations including the National Arts Club, Plein Air Painters of the Southeast, the Cumberland Society of Painters, and is a Signature member of the Oil Painters of America.
Lani Browning, Dunn Loring, VA
Lani Browning studied at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and The Corcoran in Washington, DC. She lives in Dunn Loring, VA and is a juried member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, Oil Painters of America, the Art League of Alexandria, VA and Strathmore Hall Arts in Rockville, MD. She was one of ten plein air painters invited to paint at the Forbes family Chateau de Balleroy in Normandy, France. She has also been a juried artist in the popular "Paint Annapolis"
Michael Budden, Wrightstown, NJ
Mike Budden, once known as a wildlife artist, has shifted his interest to landscapes, seascapes and still life. His subject matter ranges from his native state of New Jersey to the Rocky Mountains. His paintings can be found in many collections including three museums. He is a two time winner of the "Arthur T. Hill Memorial Award" for the best landscape by an artist 45 years or younger at the prestigious New York City "Salmagundi Club". Mike resides in Wrightstown, NJ.
Marietje Chamberlain, Washington, DC
Marietje Chamberlain was educated at the Graduate Academy of Fine Art, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and has taken courses at the Art League in Alexandria, VA and the American University in Washington, DC. She worked as a free-lance illustrator in Amsterdam, as well as a commercial artist with PRAD Advertising Agency. She has been part of multiple shows in and around the DC. area, as well as one at Reagan National Airport. She is a member of the Art League of Alexandria, VA, the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters of America and was elected to the Torpedo Factory Art Center in March 2004. She lives in Washington, DC.
Deborah Chapin, Seabrook, MD
Deborah Chapin is a resident of Seabrook, MD. Her early love of nature and experiences in competitive sailing culminated in a concentration of painting water and water related subjects. Chapin's depictions of water have been included in more than 40 museums and galleries, including Paris' Grand Palais, RJ Schaffer Museum, Colorado Historical Museum, the Audubon and American Embassies worldwide. She believes it is important to give back to the systems which help protect the natural environments of the US, including the Park Service, Fish and Wildlife and the Bureau of Land Management, donating a portion of sales of all works sold for this purpose.
C.D. Clarke, Upper Fairmont, MD
C.D. Clarke has always had two strong interests: art and the outdoors. He
started out in a program that would have put him into the Forestry School at
Syracuse University. After one semester he realized that forestry was
chemistry and math, so he turned to art.
All of his knowledge of light and how things are recorded and responded to
came from years of working outdoors on location. Many of his paintings are
created right on the spot, standing on a rocky beach, in a windy marsh, or
on a sparkling flat. The light, colors and feel of the landscape are true to
life. At other times he will use the sketches he made in the field along
with his reference photos as the basis for a painting completed in his
studio under more controlled conditions.

Jon Conkey has worked in many disciplines of art, including custom graphics, illustration, lithography, restoration, presentation, and as an instructor. For Jon, painting is the culmination of his many years dedication to art, and is the natural progression of his skills and experience. Debra Joyce Dawson, Pataskala, OH
Debra Joyce Dawson, a native of Maryland, now resides in Pataskala, OH. She received her formal training in Maryland and New Jersey and also studied art at Capital University, Denison University, and at the Columbus College of Art and Design. As a founding member and immediate past president of The Ohio Plein Air Society, Dawson was one of six Central Ohio artists who worked on the 2003 Bicentennial Paint Ohio Project. Dawson has received numerous awards and published a book titled “The Land We Call Ohio”. A feature article, co-written by Dawson and her traveling companion, titled "Painting En Plein Air in South India" was published in American Artist magazine.

Dee Beard Dean has studied art at the Scottsdale Art School, The Fechin Institute, New York Academy of Art, Grand Rapids College and Kendall College. She has studied with notable artists such as Everett Raymond Kinstler, John Howard Sandon, Scott Christenson, Camille Prezwodak and others. She is the founder and former president of Plein Air Painters of the Southeast (PAP-SE), and a member of the Laguna Beach Plein Air Association, Southeastern Pastel Society, Atlanta Portrait Society and the American Society of Oil Painters. Kenneth James DeWaard, Viroqua, WI
Ken DeWaard received his B.A. from Western Illinois University and began work at a commercial art studio in Chicago. He continued his studies at the American Academy of Art, where he studied with nationally recognized watercolorist, Irving Shapiro. Ken joined the acclaimed Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art in Chicago, where he began studying with Scott Burdick and Dan Gerhartz. Ken lives in Viroqua, WI and is an instructor at the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art in Kewaunee, WI.
John T. Eiseman, Mardela Springs, MD
John Eiseman attended the Kansas City Art Institute's Foundation Program and Salisbury State College school of Fine & Liberal Arts, graduating Cum Laud from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Of his work, he says, "I rarely draw on the canvas, preferring to immediately paint-allowing the "drawing" to sculpt itself. I rely heavily on good "drawing" skills and expressive painterly techniques. I may be seen on many highways and byways painting directly from nature. My work is in many private and public collections including the Governor's Mansion in Annapolis, The Harrison Group in Ocean City, and Second National Building and Loan. My paintings have won numerous awards and have been accepted in many juried exhibitions both regionally and nationally."
Lisa Egeli, Churchton, MD
Lisa Egeli graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. She is a third generation artist and learned her earliest skills from her father, portrait and maritime painter Peter Egeli. Lisa’s work has taken her all over the world including a nine month painting tour that took her to Europe, Southeast Asia, China, and New Zealand. "Views From Around the World," an exhibition of documentary drawings and paintings, opened on her return. She resides in Churchton, MD.
Jane Ferguson, Arnold, MD
For the vast majority of my life I never considered myself the least bit artistic, much less a person who would someday be called "An Artist." But my life changed when my sister, Ann Weibel, an established professional artist, insisted that I try out her oil paints. From the moment I painted my first stroke, I fell in love with paints, the process of painting and my new way of seeing everything. I especially enjoy painting the Plein Air landscape, the Chesapeake "Bay-scape" , flowers and children. I was blessed to spend my first three years painting and studying with Walt Bartman, Jr. Director and Founder of the Yellow Barn Studio, Glen Echo, MD. I have also studied with Ann Weibel of Vero Beach, FL and Don Sahli of Evergreen, CO. I am a member of Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.
Stephen J. Griffin, Edgewater, MD
Stephen Griffin, originally from Pennsylvania, studied at the prestigious Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. He moved to Maryland to study with renowned portrait artists Cedric and Joanette Egeli. His studies have included classical painting and architecture with Alvin Holm AIA, Impressionism at the Cape Cod School of Art and classical drawing and design at Barnstone Studios in Coplay, Pennsylvania. Stephen is a member of Classical America, the MD Society of Portrait Artists and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. He currently resides in Edgewater, MD.

Laura Howell received a BA in Art History at Randolph-Macon Women's College, Lynchburg, VA. She did her Masters Work at Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, VA and was an art teacher and the head of the art department at Seven Hills School in Lynchburg. She studied under Richard Frisbee, Ron Boehmer, Jean Cauthen, Frank Hobbs, Frank Webb, Hsuing Ju, Betty Lou Schelmm, Ralph Smith, Marilyn Simandle, Alex Powers, Ron Rencher, Charles Gruppe, Mary Eckroos, John Ebersberger, Mary Arthur, Shannon Smith, and Kim English. Shirl Ireland studied fine art, product design and graphic design while in college. César A. Jerez is a longtime resident of New Jersey and now resides in Butler. He travels to sketch and paint from Maine to Hawaii, in Spain and in the Dominican Republic where he was born. At the Art Students League in New York City, Jerez studied with Robert Beverly Hale and Gustav Rehberger. At the Ridgewood Art Institute in Ridgewood, NJ, he studied under Arthur Maynard, a disciple of the famous League instructor, Frank Vincent Dumond.

Russell Jewell is an award winning artist/educator from Easley, South Carolina. For more than twenty years he has carved a career out of the combining forces of art and education. His qualifications include a Masters of Art from the University of South Carolina and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Georgia. He is a certified Advanced Placement teacher and has recently received certification by the National Board for Professional Teachers Program. Russell Jewell is a signature member of the S.C. Greg Little, Oakland Park, FL
Greg Little, an award winning resident of Oakland Park, FL, grew up drawing and painting in rural northern Alabama. As a teenager, he studied with Dorothy Willingham, who gave him an early introduction to the use of color and light. While exhibiting in galleries and various other venues, he also began a career in the decorative arts, painting murals, and building furniture. He is a member of Oil Painters of America, Plein Air Florida, Fort Lauderdale Plein Air, Bonnet House Fine Artists, and the Broward Art Guild.
Karen Mathis, Easton, MD
Karen Mathis lives on a cove off the Tred Avon River on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Her plein air paintings often portray the interplay of land and water, featuring boats and their reflections as well as shoreline houses and gardens. She has received awards in both watercolor and oil from notable judges at The Phillips Museum, The Corcoran School of Art, and the Art Department of George Washington University, and her work has been published in several books on art and design. Currently, her work can be seen at the 13th Maritime Art Exhibit at the Coos Art Museum, Coos Bay Oregon. Karen is an Artist Member of the American Society of Marine Artists, the Northwest Watercolor Society and Oil Painters of America. Karen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Design from George Washington University, Washington, DC.
Joe Mayer, Easton, MD
Joe Mayer received his BFA from William and Mary and his MFA from Catholic University. He has worked as the Art Department Chairman at Prince George's Community College and as an adjunct professor at University of Maryland, Sweet Briar College, West Virginia Wesleyan and Montgomery College. His works have been exhibited at numerous venues including the Baltimore Museum of Art, Corcoran Art Gallery, Catholic University, Gallery 54 in New York City, the Maryland State Capitol Building, Vierhoff Gallery of Washington, DC and Pinto Gallery of San Francisco. He has also served as the past president of the Washington Watercolor Society and Annapolis Watercolor Association. He's conducted private workshops in the United States, France and Mexico. He is the founder of the Friday Morning Artists in Shepherdstown, W Va. and Easton, Md.
Kirk McBride, Berlin, MD
Kirk McBride, of Berlin, MD, has been painting for over 30 years. His work reflects the fields and shorelines of the Eastern Shore as well as the landscapes of Maine, Mexico, Colorado and the Caribbean.
Ross Merrill, Alexandria, VA
Since 1983, Ross Merrill has been the Chief of Conservation at the National
Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. where he is responsible for the care of
one of the world's great art collections. Merrill's background in
conservation and his research into artists' painting techniques have given
him a unique insight and understanding of different styles and techniques.
He grew up in a small town in Texas where his interest in the outdoors has
formed the subjects of his paintings. As John Wilmerding, the American art
historian, said of Merrill's paintings, "His are solid compositions and
timeless landscapes; his images preserve quiet moments and restful corners
of the American Landscape; together his hand and eye save both nature and
art for us to enjoy".
Walter Lynn Mosley, Brooklyn, NY
Walter Lynn Mosley studied with Frank Mason at the Art Students League of New York. He is a member of the Salmagundi Club of New York, and has shown with American Artists Professional League, Greenhouse Gallery of Art and Allied Artists of America. "I have been painting en plein air for the last 20 years. It is the most challenging and rewarding form of art I have experienced. My goal in painting, whether in studio or outdoors, is to achieve enough honesty in the work that the painting becomes a window to a new place for the viewwer, a place of rest from this hectic world. Diane DuBois Mullaly, Eastern Shore, MD
Diane DuBois Mullaly was born in Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay and grew up in rural southeastern Pennsylvania. After a childhood spent drawing and observing nature, she attended Tyler School of Art majoring in graphic design. Diane has been an art director in women's fashion and an in-house graphic designer for one of the world's largest banks. Now, she lives with her husband on Maryland's Eastern Shore and is an award winning painter of miniatures in oil. Diane paints weekly with the Plein Air Painters of the Eastern Shore, and does web and print design for an Easton, Maryland art gallery. She is a member of the Friday Morning Artists, Rehoboth Art League, Miniature Art Society of Florida, The Art League, and the Academy Art Museum. Since she began painting en plein air, Diane has studied with Joe Mayer, Joyce Zeigler, Anne Hock, Bobbie Seger, Matthew Hillier, Betty Billups and Sara Poly.
Bob O'Brian, Euless, TX
Bob O'Brian, a resident of Euless, TX, attended college at the Universidad de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the Maryland Institute of Art. He has worked as a portrait and caricature artist for the last thirty years and has recently taken up plein air painting.
Sara Linda Poly, Arlington, VA
Sara Linda Poly grew up near Philadelphia and spent several years living in the west. She has studied at Montgomery College, Prince Georges Community College and Northern Virginia Community College. Sara has participated in numerous shows and is a member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters of America and Oil Painters of America. She currently lives and maintains a studio in Arlington, VA.
Scott Tallman Powers, Chicago, IL
Scott Tallman Powers, a resident of Chicago, IL, received a BFA from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He spent many years as an illustrator in a Chicago ad agency before pursuing his dream of being a full-time fine artist. He is a board member for the Oil Painters of America and a member of The Portrait Society of America and The American Society of Portrait Artists. Scott is currently working as a professional portrait painter and teaches landscape and portrait painting at The Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Art in Chicago. Scott is the founder of "The Plein Air Painters of Chicago".

Scott Prior, Oceanside, CA
Scott Prior is a native of Southern California and took to art at an early age. When it came time to enroll in college and find a major, Scott was encouraged to pick something marketable. Six majors later, Scott began to feel a little lost. His mom encouraged him to take up a drawing class at his local Junior College for fun.it was there that he found himself doing what he should have doing the whole time. At the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, he studied under artists, Craig Nelson, Bill Maughan and Hui Han Lui. Shortly after graduation, Scott relocated to southern California. Having learned the lesson early on to pursue what inspires you, he would not waver from that quest. Today, whether he's in his studio, painting 'en plein aire' or out catching his favorite surf break - Scott recognizes the many dimensions and shades that make up his everyday life and is inspired by them.

Lori Putnam
Lori's interest in art began before she was 5 years old. As an adult, she managed her own successful graphic design company for more than 13 years while continuing to study art independently. Lori has been fortunate to study with Scott Christensen, Michael Shane Neal, Peggy-Kroll Roberts, and Dawn Whitelaw, among others. Her line of tutelage can be traced directly to John Singer Sargent, Charles Carolus Duran, John F. Carlson, and Frank Dumond. Her work is also influenced by prominent artists of today such as Everett
Raymond Kinstler, Clyde Aspevig, and Kevin Macpherson. Lori's most recognized (and most sought after) paintings are in oil, although she enjoys working in watercolor, conté, and acrylic. Representational in style, her landscapes, produced both in the studio and en plein air, and her still lifes embody her passionate painting style; energetic brushwork and brilliant use of color.

Bill Schmidt has been a full-time professional landscape painter for 23 years. Sheryl Southwick, Trappe, MD
Sheryl Southwick, a native of Baton Rouge, LA, currently resides in Trappe, MD. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University, studying under Harvey Harris (d), Ed Pramuk, and Paul Dufour. She studied at the Corcoran School of Art with Leon Berkowicz of the Washington Color School. She has taught art workshops for adults and children at various venues, including the Academy Art Museum, Easton, MD.
Carol Lee Thompson
Carol Lee Thompson is a Classical Realist trained in the methods of the Old Masters. She graduated from Towson State University with a B.S. and the Maryland Institute College of Art with a M.F.A. She also attended the Schuler School of Fine Art. Carol's subject matter covers a wide range, from still-life, landscape and portraiture to Native American. It is important to note that Carol follows the methods of the Old Masters; she grinds her pigments with black oil and makes Flemish medium. She uses only fine Belgian lined and panels she prepares with glue and lead. She teaches these techniques in workshops and classes.
Doreen Tighe, New Jersey
Doreen Tighe, one of New Jersey's awarding winning artists, is a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC with a degree in Fashion Illustration. She enjoyed a successful career as a fashion illustrator in Manhattan while studying at The Art Student League before fully dedicating herself to producing fine art. Doreen has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States. Critics have described Ms. Tighe's work as Expressionistic in nature. Her work has been shown internationally and is currently in several collections throughout Europe, as well as being featured in the Southwestern part of the US. She has been juried into the Oil Painters of America, the Society of Master Impressionists and the American Impressionist Society.
Brett Weaver, Sewanee, TN
Tennessee native Brett Weaver (b. 1973) works as a fulltime artist, focusing on plein aire landscapes, painting in a representational style inspired by the early American Impressionists. Through intensive study of the works and methods of Edgar Payne and John Carlson, past masters and teachers of landscape painting, and other well-respected contemporaries, he has obtained a fresh approach to his own work in the use of color, massing, composition, and other basic principles. His engineering background also provides for a more complete understanding of composition through mathematical principals of force and balance. Other influences and favorite artists include Joaquin Sorolla, John Singer Sargent, Frederick Mulhaupt and William Wendt.
Will Williams, Towson, MD
Will Williams graduated from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and then he began his career as an illustrator. He has won awards from the Society of Illustrators in New York and communication arts magazine in CA. Will has always been a painter and is currently a fulltime plein air and portrait painter. He resides in Towson, Maryland
Scott Yeager, Cape May, NJ
Scott Yeager studied at the Scottdale Artists school in Arizona and has sought individual study with artists Kang Cho, Scott Christensen and Quang Ho. Scott exhibited in the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's "Birds in Art" exhibition, has been judged into the Arts for the Parks exhibition sponsored by the National Parks Academy of the Arts, and has been selected to exhibit in several shows at the Bennington Center for the Arts in Vermont. Scott is an active member of the Mid-Atlantic Plain Air Painters Association and lives in Cape May, NJ.
M. Joyce Zeigler, Ridgely, MD
M. Joyce Zeigler has studied with various artists at the Academy of the Arts Museum in Easton, MD, with Robert Abbett and Clyde Aspevig at Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona, and has attended workshops by Plein Air Painters of America. Joyce lives in Ridgely, MD, where she teaches oil painting in her country studio. Her paintings can be found in private collections throughout the U.S. and Europe.
